This policy explains how Blog I-9, by Felipe Abreu, the editorial core of I-9.ai, processes personal data when you browse the blog, use comments, or contact us. For questions and requests, email [email protected].
Data we may process
- Browsing: IP address, date and time, pages visited, browser, device, language, and technical records required for security and operation.
- Comments: submitted text, displayed name or pseudonym, account identifiers, email when applicable, votes, replies, and moderation status.
- Account and session: identifiers, strictly necessary cookies, and data provided by your chosen sign-in method. External identity providers also process data under their own terms.
- Local preferences: chosen language, acceptance or dismissal of language suggestions, and light or dark theme selection, stored in your browser as explained below.
- Audience measurement: browsing events and technical data processed by Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate use of the blog.
- Contact: your email address and content you voluntarily send.
Do not publish credentials, secrets, client data, or sensitive personal information in comments. Approved comments are public.
Why we process data
We use data to deliver and maintain the site; load, publish, and moderate comments; authenticate participants; prevent spam, abuse, and incidents; answer requests; back up and recover the service; and comply with legal obligations or exercise legal rights. Depending on the purpose, processing relies on your request or consent, the legitimate interest in operating and protecting the service, and other applicable legal grounds.
The comment system loads automatically as its section approaches the visible area. Your browser may therefore contact comments.mentordosnerds.com.br even if you do not write a comment.
The blog configuration determines the comment provider. When Comentario is selected, the loading behavior described above applies. Giscus may also be selected temporarily after the blog’s operator manually switches providers; in that mode, the widget contacts giscus.app when the comments section is rendered, and GitHub processes account and discussion data under its own privacy terms.
Who may receive data
Comentario is hosted on infrastructure managed by the blog’s operation. Hosting, network, security, backup, and authentication providers may act as processors only as needed to provide their services. Cloudflare provides hosting, delivery, protection, and audience measurement; Google provides audience measurement. These providers may process data in other countries under their own contractual and security mechanisms.
Your browser also loads fonts from Google Fonts and stylesheets, icons, and scripts from jsDelivr to display pages and enable their features. These requests send your IP address and technical connection data to these providers, even on pages without comments or before comments load. Delivering these resources serves a separate purpose from audience measurement through Google Analytics; the providers may also process data in other countries.
The author’s profile image also loads from GitHub, at avatars.githubusercontent.com. This request sends your IP address and technical connection data to the provider to deliver the image, even if you do not use comments.
We do not sell personal data or share comment content for behavioral advertising.
Retention and security
Comments and account data are kept while needed to preserve the conversation and provide the feature, unless deletion is requested or retention is legally required. Security logs and backups remain only as long as needed for operations, abuse prevention, recovery, and the exercise of rights. They are then deleted or anonymized where technically feasible and legally permitted.
We use proportionate controls for access, updates, secure transport, backup, logging, and recovery. No internet-connected system is risk-free; relevant incidents will be handled and reported as required by applicable law.
Your rights
You may request confirmation and access, correction, information about sharing, anonymization, restriction or deletion where applicable, portability under applicable rules, review of relevant automated decisions, and withdrawal of consent. You may also object to processing and file a petition with Brazil’s National Data Protection Agency (ANPD).
Email [email protected]. We may request minimal information to confirm your identity and prevent someone else from accessing or deleting your data.
Cookies and local preferences
The blog itself stores interface preferences in your browser, including on pages without comments:
- Language: we use persistent browser storage (
localStorage) to remember your chosen language and whether you accepted or dismissed a suggestion, so it is not repeated for the same page and language pair. The blog sets no expiration for these records; they remain until you or your browser clear them. A new choice replaces the preferred language. Suggestions also consider the languages declared by your browser. - Light or dark theme: we use storage for the tab’s session (
sessionStorage) to keep your selection as you browse. It lasts for the tab’s session, which normally ends when you close the tab or window, and may be removed earlier when the blog returns to following the system theme.
These preferences are not comment account or session identifiers and are not used by the blog for audience measurement. Separately, the comment system may use strictly necessary cookies or local storage for sessions, authentication, and preferences. Google Analytics may also use identifiers and cookies for audience measurement.
You may block or clear this data in your browser settings. Doing so may reset preferences, make language suggestions reappear, and interrupt sessions, features, or measurements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, providers, or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
